Pick my hard

 Well, you know that saying, something like "Getting into shape is hard, but so it staying fat You gotta pick your hard"

Well, I need to pick my hard.   My hard will be getting into shape.    I turned 52 yesterday.  Its not going to get any easier the older I get. The time is now

I signed up for this a while back. Ok I signed up again.  


I love Cathe, she's my favorite DVD instructor, although I've been using her off and on since VHS was the thing.  Got the PS Series on VHS originally, then had to upgrade to DVD

She produces on Live workout every week, barring injury, illness, or sometimes if she's filming for a new DVD series, and then uploads it on the demand site a couple hours later.  Over 350 workouts you can do on demand, and if you want, you can also get all her DVD streamed too.  Now I've not been able to really use this much cause my internet was so crappy, but well, I have good internet now.  And I did a workout last week and I freaking LOVED IT.  I forgot how nice it is cause its like a class, and there are people of all shapes and sized there, and I can always fine someone in the class who well, looks more like me, and maybe has to modify a move or take a break to sip some water.  I love that.

And this lady.


I love her!  She's in almost every one of the Live Classes, minus those when Covid shut everything down.  She's just so happy to be there, I just love her to death!    She's my inspiration to just get up and move.

I've been sitting and watching the previews of the classes on Cathe's YouTube channel.  I made a list of about 7-8 of her workouts, out of over 350, that I want to do before Aug. is over.  Then I did the same with my Peloton spin classes, picking 3-4 of them,  and I'll be picking some treadmill workouts to do as well. 

As for eating, well, mostly I'm going focus on getting something in my tummy for breakfast.  I have found if I don't get breakfast, I tend to overeat in the evening.  And work on getting 1 more serving of fruits and veggies in everyday.  Once I get those steps down,  I'll work on calories and macros.  I just want to make small changes that gets me healthier.

I might get decent internet soon!

 So I live in rural Iowa.   Very rural.  And our Wi-Fi SUCKS


Ok, we have an ok signal, but the speed, it totally SUCKS.  The experts say the lowest decent speed it 10mbps   I've had it be as fast as 4mbps like one time.   Usually we hang out at about 3.5mpbs.  That means if I stream one thing that's pretty much all we can do.  And a simple 8 minute YouTube video will take 6-8 hours to upload.  And right now, its even slower than that, averaging 2-3mbps.  

But early this spring while looking out our kitchen window, we saw a big tower being put up.  I mean, its literally just off our property line, and we can walk from our house to this tower in 3-4 minutes.  We asked the guy who owns the property, and well guess what. Its a brand new Wi-Fi tower!   A new to our area company is coming in, and starting to put up towers in rural areas to offer better internet.

Well, I've been checking the company to see if service was offered since I noticed the tower was actually up back in around March.  Nothing. A couple weeks ago, hubby saw a couple guys out working, and meandered out to visit and they were like "this tower should be on in a couple weeks"

Yesterday, I checked with the company and OMG, service is offered in our area!  So I signed up to get service!

The company called after a couple hours and now comes the wait for technicians in the area to get a hole of us to schedule a time to get it installed.   And cause its so close to our house, we should get good speeds.  I sure hope so.  It would be nice to not buffer videos, and to be able to have me stream a workout like on my Peloton while hubby is watching Netflix. 

That's about all that's going on round here.  My workouts have been more of the "hey, I got up and moved around some" variety.  Its better than nothing.   I mean it counts, doesn't it?

I hope, esp. once we get new internet and (I hope) its actually fast, that I can stream workouts from YouTube Peloton, and my Cathe on Demand which I've not been doing much cause the buffering sucks. 

Oh, another thing, I ordered a new thing during Amazon prime day.  Ok 2 things but a new car seat for my granddaughters isn't really a thing to splurge on lol.  But I got this


Now did I "NEED" a new gaming laptop.  Um, no.  But its a good laptop and then I can use the one I have now downstairs in my gym to stream my workouts on.  I've got a really old one down there I'm using, and well, the lid is about to pop right off. I have to hold it while opening it up to keep it from breaking anymore than it already is.

So that's about it.  Maybe next time I blog, I'll have super fast internet.
